While thinking about niches, and keywords, and the like – I realized that perhaps a solid idea would be create a site to help people who want to do the same thing as I do.
I started looking at keywords and identified a few that would work, and they related to exactly what I want to do (make money by running a website). So, the idea will be that I’ll create a blog-style website, detailing techniques/methods for creating such a website… get it? Interest and Fear will remain my scratch space – a place for me to write about problems I run into, successes I have, and as noted before, a form of pressure to stay motivated.
So – the new site’s domain? WebMarketingGeek.com.
You might say, “but you’re no such thing” – and you’d be 100% right, but hopefully by the time I’m finished I will be, or will at least be significantly closer than I am now. I needed a domain that had “marketing” and either “internet” (preferable) or “web” in it – and most are taken, or are being sold for very high prices, however this domain was available for less than $10.
Within one day I registered the domain, purchased hosting space (more on that later), and installed WordPress (more on this later as well). It was a very productive day Friday. I also wrote a sort article on purchasing a domain name and web hosting for http://www.webmarketinggeek.com – but before I post it I need an article on niches, keywords, and such – so it may be a day or two before there’s actual content posted.
As an aside, I did also purchase InterestAndFear.com because, well, godaddy.com is having a $1 domain sale, so I figured why not. This blog will most likely transfer over there within the week.
